have a Hotpoint hob to change like for like basis, above a existing Hotpoint/Indesit double oven. Instructions for new hob state in one line that if fitted above oven the oven must have forced ventilation cooling system. I have not come across this before

I contacted hotpoint who explained. forced ventilation cooling is a fan that blows cool air to prevent the oven dials from overheating. He also stated it is standard on there ovens.

there does not appear to be much information on ovens that include this feature or at least it is not listed in product info.

so i was hoping for advice as to weather this feature (forced ventilation cooling) is standard on most ovens.

problem sorted, it was the way it was put in the instructions that worried me. They are refering to the fan that blows air through oven door vents when the oven is switched on, hence keeping casing cool and heat away from control knobs.
