House Alarm keeps going off

My Mothers house alarm keeps randomly going off, sometimes in the early hours of the night, and on the panel it always shows Tamper lit up.

Whats wrong with it and what can i do? im not familiar with alarm panels much so only sensible answers please.

The Panel is an OPTIMA XM6 with 6 zones on it.

The tampers should be wired in series check you have continuity through all the circuits or you may have to go and check theres no loose connections through out the circuits, not that many and not to hard to do.

yeh could do that or just link the tamper terminals in the board from what i can remember the signal wire thatsets the alarm off are normally closed so if sum1 cuts the cables it would trigger the alarm anyway hth

Why would you want to link out the tamper circuits though?? kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it??

the most likely suspect the external sounder loose cover.
