Discuss How do you go on holiday? in the Industrial Electricians' Talk area at ElectriciansForums.net

One of the best things about working for yourself you can take a holiday for as long as you like.

I know sparks that will knock their pipe out for 10 months of the year and spend the other 2 months in places like Thailand and India ect.

You get out what you put in. ;)

Holidays? Hol ee daze. I've heard talk of those and thought they were a myth. :)

Most customers begrudge you having a break, they expect you to be hung up at the back of the door just in case they need you. Haven't had one myself in almost two years. :(

I work self employed through an agency and am thinking of starting out contracting on my own. Although i didnt want to start taking on any jobs (thats assuming there is any!) before my 2 week break in january. Planning on doing it at the same time as my current work. I dont think i will be big enough to worry then though.

I'm self employed,, I just book round it, leave a message on the answering service saying when I'll be back, jump on the plane and forget........
