How easy is it to convert a house from single to three phase ?

I am thinking of having a car lift (that uses three phase supply) installed in my house, my house is single phase, what are my options?, what would be involved?

You have to speak to your supply company.
they would need to give you a new supply cable containing the other 2 phases.

There may also be a device that converts single to pseudo 3 phase.

A device that converts single to pseudo 3 phase sounds good, where can I find out about that?.

You may find VFD that match the sort of load you need, and a lot cheaper than either getting in 3-phase supply or changing motors.

Recently fitted 3 supplies to small workshop vehicle ramps, all single phase. Perfectly adequate.
Why would you want 3 phase?

OP might have an answer, but I suspect a 2nd hand one that has a 3-phase motor.

Maybe he/she does or has other requirements for 3ph like an EVC, but you are probably correct in that they have obtained a 2nd hand ramp with a 3ph motor and therefore agree with your post #4 for most cost effective option.
