I’m working to wire my basement. I’ve been researching codes, pulled my permit, and have discussed my project with the inspector.

With this being a basement I know I will need GFI breakers. First question, can I put lights on these same circuits?

Second how should I break up my circuits? These are the rooms and fixtures each will have. (There is a bathroom too, this is straight forward for me)

Bedroom 1
  • 5 outlets
  • 1 light

Bedroom 2
  • 5 outlets
  • 1 light

Hall
  • 1 outlets
  • 1 light

Family Room
  • 12 Outlets
  • 3 lights

First off yes you can install the lighting on the same GFCI circuit. I would put the bedrooms on 1 circuit and the hall and family room on another circuit
