hi folks, I need to wire a pipe stat to bring on a circulating pump with out firing the oil boiler, I believe that the only way to do this is by wiring through a relay so that the switched live from the stat sends power to the pump but doesn't back feed and energise the oil burner. any thoughts or advice appreciated

thanks for the reply, the pipe stat is to operate the circulating pump alone as opposed to boiler & pump so that once the water reaches say 65 degrees the stat brings on the pump with out firing the boiler and circulates the water round the radiators. if that makes sense

Is this for a pump over run circuit or a separate second pump?
Generally though common to pump, normally closed from normal supply and normally open bringing in a supply when the relay is energised, separating backfeed to n/c.
