Has it gone dead on the PV side for anyone else?

Done a 'few' i.e ONE quote for someone few weeks back which should be a guaranteed but other than that nothing.

I know it's early days after the 3rd March but don't fancy the rush coming again 2 weeks before end of March.

Going to see someone tomorrow for a meeting to discuss lowering carbon emissions but apart from that we have had nothing. Phone hasn't been ringing (apart from the normal website optimisation blah blah blah crap)

one job booked for the end of march and nothing else, no phone calls, no web inquiries, nothing. Basically it's s h i t and it's going to stay that way from now on I guess. Did anyone else expect a further fall in module/inverter prices?

I can't see prices falling any further from the Top Name brands but a lot of Chinese stock will come down so prices may come down a bit but no where near what is needed for the Circa 16p Tariff in July.

I keep on having to reiterate to my guys that solar is dead for a bit.

Sad thing is as an industry we all now need each other to fail so we can succeed.

Very sorry state of affairs

Dead here too.

I did however all but wind it up late last year and layed off a couple of guys.

Done a few this year with no advertising costs, unlikely to renew MCS in October.

4 new inquiries from last week, 5-6 site visits lined up, 1 install going ahead next week from an initial contact a while back, have a church job lined up before end of march, and anticipate being fairly busy in the last 2 weeks of march again, but not as busy as last month.

We've also been going back through contacts from a show we did last autumn, and have a fair few still interested, quite a few are in the process of doing new builds / major renovations, so weren't really ready to think about it until around now anyway.

and then there's a long shot with a landlord with a load of properties locally, but we're having to really knock our prices down for that, and only about a quarter of them are even vaguely suitable.

oh, and the guy maybe wanting a ground mount 10kW system who's already been quoted £14,750...... kinda struggling to match that price tbh, and think it's a bit of a **** take, but would like the experience as we've not done a ground mount yet.

I seriously think the work is potentially out there, but it's going to take a bit more work to get it, and much keener pricing than in the past.

We've also just sorted out our EPC situation, which is a big weight off my mind. I'd seriously recommend subbing it out, as it means you can have it all sorted with one meeting, not spending thousands up front plus weeks of training etc when you should be focussing on updating your website, paperwork, getting customers in etc. Just my opinion mind, but I'm pretty confident at the moment.

Nice to hear Gavin. I'm sure it's not all doom and gloom and things will be rosier in a few weeks :) Ofc until July :P

tbh, I mainly got someone ringing round because I couldn't think of anything else for them to do, now they've gone and filled up my diary with site surveys. I was kinda hoping for a week of sorting the website out etc but erm mustn't grumble.

I think if I was still in one man band mode with this I'd still be sat there tearing my hair out, though I'd also not have a 20k a month wage bill to worry about, so it's swings and roundabouts.

We have the chance of a tiny system, miles away from us that we wouldn't normally do - we'll be doing it if it comes through beggars can't be choosers! Finishing paperwork off this week then sorting out marketing and EPCs.

Not a single phone call in the last fortnight!

Three jobs confirmed today and I cant get the modules for them. And just to add insult to injury I had them yesterday but sold them to another installer because my bottle was going.

Had an enquiry today for a Job on a Grade 2 Listed Building lol- We done one close to them last year- Have no idea what to expect on the EPC side of things as no way it will be done before end of march

Just lost the one job we had a slight chance of. Can't get the "shed" in place before 1st April, not worth doing after because the house has solid walls and oil central heating, not a chance of getting to D rating :-( getting more depressed by the day!
