I am not an electrician, but have one that is not very familiar wit generators. The planer is a 5 hp 20” grizzly planer with magnetic switch and overload protection ( grizzly told me the starting amps are about 60amps) The generator is a duromax 12000 watt generator with a breaker that trips at around 39 amps. I purchased a soft start, but now I’m told it still won’t work because of the magnetic switch. Am I out of luck, or is there a solution to my problem? Thanks guys

Magnetic switch (USA) = No volt release switch (UK)?
The soft start needs to be wired after the magnetic switch, but before the planer motor.
