Hi there,
I probably shouldn't be here as I am not an electrician. I do have an A level in physics and I am a server engineer for the ambulance service so have at least a basic understanding of how our power infrastructure works! I have only really joined this forum to hopefully find old (sorry... more experienced! ?) engineers who may have used some of the old vintage meter locks I collect, amongst others.

TBH It may even be something that shouldn't be publicly available, in which case... no probs. I was just interested in how the old tamper locks were numbered.

Regards,
Tequila Dave

Assuming the padlocks latch closed without the key, I'd say the pink tickets are tamper indicators and the number either refers to the person who last emptied the meter or the locality the meters were in, bearing they will have been in use before the Postcode system was set up.

They are exactly tamper proof seals, I was just wondering if the numbered referred to a specific electrician or property. Seeing that all those 3 have the same number would lead me to believe this. I was hoping there may be an old school electrician here who may have remembered using them.
