Was hunting for info on what to do when a lighting circuit has no CPC and Class 1 fittings, went to join this forum and found I was already here!

Thought I'd best say hello, name is Dave, I live in Grimsby and I have been in Electronic servicing, telecoms and data for many years since attending college in 1998. Ended up in a job I didn't like and decided to finish what I'd started in 1997 and enrolled at college in Sept 2016 on a Level 2 Electrical Installation course. I found it a bit easy and finished with flying colours. I started Level 3 this September.
As I'm 38, I don't see myself getting an apprenticeship and as I'm only really interested in Domestic I'm looking what routes I can take. A tutor at college has mentioned the "Domestic Installer route" if nothing else comes up.

Welcome Dave!

You work EY or VL?

Still building the kit up for ATV since the move, VL appears to be inaccessible, other side of the wolds. I've asked G7AVU to move it nearer but he doesn't seem to fancy that idea lol. I've tried to received EY on a receiver but either the signal is to weak for the box to pick up or it's not accessible from where I am. I'm building a Portsdown and a Minitoune which will fully answer the questions. Failing that I'm sitting about waiting for GB3CT to be commissioned.

Forgot about CT... "Uncle" Bob G7AVU is great, I speak to him at least once a week on Vsee. Him and Kath came to my wedding.

To be fair to Bob maybe moving Lincoln Cathedral just so you can work VL is a bit OTT!

Yeah, that's what I thought. I try and get on the VSee/VL net on a Friday night via the BATC website. Not been on for a few weeks.
