In a previous life I did a lot of work for an import company bringing products from China into the UK. With the way things are going environmentally and the (hopefully) growing PV market, I'm considering marketting a new brand of panel and wanted to guage a bit of interest and see if you guys had any feedback? We won't be looking at bring cheap inferior units over, the aim will be to have units made to our spec with quality close to the UK models but at a more affordable price.

I'd be interested to hear how many of you install Chinese vs UK models at the moment, and whether you'd be interested as an installer in increasing your profit by using similar spec parts with comparible warranties instead of UK manufactured units.

There seems to be a bit of negativity surrounding the Chinese imports after some of the reading I've done but after dealing with importers before I know that there can be a huge quality difference and with proper specs and quality control the Chinese units can be just as good as the UK ones.

Any feedback appreciated :)

Lets face it, the cheaper the better

However, it is not rocket science! If your product is not MCS accredited then it aint worth nowt!

I'd be interested in anything coming in to the market that allows a better price but like the previous post if no MCS then keep it in China!

If there is anything PM me!
