Hello there,
Firstly apologies if I should have posted this in the DIY electrical section so if it needs moved fair doos.

Indesit cooker KP9507EB problem is its taking about 40 mins to reach 200C....grill works fine and so does the thermostat light on control panel..oven is conventional...anyone got any ideas?

thanks

Danny

it's a slow cooker. :ack2: :willy_nilly:

seriously, though, most ovens have more than 1 element. the top one is also the grill, and there's likely 1 at each side. either or both could have failed. if you can get into the thing ( isolated from supply ) each element should give a resistance reading of between 30 and 60 ohms, depending on the wattage of each.

thanks for the reply telectrix...'slow cooker'? you're tellin' me...we're having to switch the oven on a hour in advance....didn't know about the side elements and I'll need to get a multi-meter (need one for the car anyway)...gonna get the LV emergency cover to fix it...getting a new fitted kitchen so will gumtree the cooker + hood

ta for the input

Danny
