Infra-red Reciever 200mm below ceiling line linked to remote controll AV system in lobby using CAT5 Cables

What is the above?

Help needed says it on the drawing there are 3 Infra-red receivers which are all above doors linked to an AV system in lobby

No idea hope someone has some idea

what av system do they already have installed, sounds like you need to match the exsisting, seems to be remote control of the av system

They have no system installed, no alarm system, no audio system no nothing lol just a basic Mansion >.> Lights, Sockets, Switches thats it.. Still have re-wire-able fuses o_O

Just says that on drawing for new build, but no idea what it means or what it is. Builder dosent know either!

Good luck with that... might be worth subbing it out if its going to be a full blown AV set up - can get pretty complex if you dont have any/ much experience of that!

Just been on a job recently, where money was no object etc $$$

The AV/lutron chap was there for what seemed like days trying to set it all up, and he had a right headache with the AV configuration.

We done one before just ran the cable and let the av guy deal with it. Ended up sky boxes servers etc where all in a separate hub room and it was just for the remote back to there. Can you not call the av guys?

Its basically in the Lobby, there is were the Stereo system will be for all the audo. It then has a bit saying Remote Control AV System and states to take a CAT 5 to 3 different areas. These are 1 above main door into lobby, 1 above a door into garden and one above far window. Ive attached some screenshots of the KEY, the area were the AV System is to be placed and the positions were they want to go (IRR) on drawing. Ive circled it all RED

That's not really much clearer Axel. It says you need cat5 from each room back to the hub location, that's easy enough (just make sure you label the hub end of the cables accordingly). You'd need to leave a fair amount of cat5 at the hub end depending on how it's being terminated (ie into what, it could be free standing/rack mounted etc ... all needing different lengths of cable at the termination end). It doesn't make it clear what's powering the sensors, they could be using a POE type arrangement or may need their own power at the location. Can you not find out who's providing the AV system and talk to them about what they need?
