Hello

Looking for some help regarding a job we are on at the mo, we have installed a Infinity 8 Fire Alarm Control Panel with break glass, smokes and detectors in a old Victorian house that's converted into five flats, they have just finished extending the property to accommodate for a fifth flat, all the rest were done a long time ago.

The council has asked for a Velux KFX100 Window to be installed which the customer picked up as a kit, not having touched these kits before they do come with one break glass and one smoke.

We don't need any of these but the window can be connected to our Fire Alarm system via its own control panel, you just need to connect the two via the Aux on the Fire Panel.

The instructions are really vague on the Velux and inside the control box its all in German !,

The problem we have is, the window was working fine with the manual up and down buttons on the front of the velux box but the moment we set the alarm off the Velux alarm light comes on but it does not open the window and now the velux does not work manually either.

The instructions are terrible for the Velux, there is one sentence in the whole book that states there is a module that needs to be put in our Control panel, but that's all we got, which has been done.

Just looking to see if anyone can shed any light on these window kits, thanks in advance !

There should be a callpoint/reset unit with the kit, its wired via 7 core to the main velux panel. With out connecting this, unit will not reset.

Thanks for your response, we don't really plan to use the call point or break glass they have provided, just the control box to work with the smoke vent window. The manual states we can do this instead and wire it into our system, using the small little module they supply, all looks pretty straight forward in the manual from when we leave their control panel to the their small little module, its just whats needed once it leaves the little module to our I 8 board which is the confusing part. They have a reset button built into the circuit board inside, so resetting is ok

ok see what your doing, make sure the module is connected into terminals 4/5 on the Velux ...the connect the switch input of the module to the fire relay terminals CM & NO on the infinity panel.
The are 2 set switches on the Velux pcb marked SW2.....set first switch up to on position, and second switch down to off position......After a fire signal, the rest button will need to be used on Velux pcb.

Should be ok, worked on a few Velux, but tell us all how you get on
