Hi.
I'm planning to buy single phase walder with supply current of 16A. In got unused 32A mcb in my breaker box. I want to replace it with 16A type C or D and use about 7m long 4mm cable to connect 16A interlocked socket. Socket will go on wall of garage that is part of house.
What type of breaker is right and is cable thick enough to comply with UK domestic safety regulations.

Welcome to the forum mate.
First of all, seeing that this is a new circuit then Part P will apply (Depending on what part of the UK you live)
Secondly, the electrician you should employ, so they they can do the Part P notification, installation and test cert, will be able to tell you what size cable, cable type, installation method, breaker type.... and any other info you require.

Where about in the UK are you?

his profile says Manchester. that's a small town to the south of you , spoon. wakey wakey.

Maybe I should check out profiles more.. I've stopped looking since most of the new members has their profile locked... Not sure if this is still a thing.
