Anyone every installed uplighters in tarmaced driveway ,great idea but terrible to install ...iv been presented with some uplighters but the design is rubbish ! They have 40mm space before it hits the ground .... Meaning that an underground joint must be made if useing swa cabling ,im
driven towards a galv t-box on which i propose to fill with gel to make it water tight ...any other ideas ...pately underground boxes are far to expensive as it would cost nearly a £600 for the jb,s alone ....please advise ...

We use the galv T box idea all the time works really well as long as you fill it to the TOP with gel.
I personally hate "in ground" lighting as they always seem to leak and are a nightmare to fix 12 months down the line.
