Hi, Colleagues!
I need some help to make a decision. The thing is: I completed 2330 Lev2 (Electrical Maintenance) recently, but to carry on on level 3 I need to wait untill the group fill up, which is unacceptable option for me. So my college suggest me to go on 2330 lev3 (Installation:Building and Structures). Actually I dont mind, but the question is: Is it going to be reflected on my future employment search? I mean, eventually I will have 2330 level 2(Electrical Maintenance) and level 3 in Installation. What NVQ route should I do later? Any advice will be helpfull, thanks.

Hi Mate,

The only difference between the Maintenance and Installation level 3 2330 is the two units on testing and fault finding. Unit 301 is the same for both qualifications, for details see following link http://www.cityandguilds.com/documents/ind_construction_electrical/2330-l3-hb-v2.3.pdf .

For the NVQ, you four units are the same and you will then have the option to take the installation or maintenance route, whichever you feel is best for you. I would imagine you are already registered with the college for your NVQ on the Maintenenance route, you need to find this out!

Either way, there is nothing stopping you from doing both. 8 units for the NVQ 3 Installation and 7 units for the NVQ 3 Maintenenance, remember both of these NVQ's have four identical units.

Hope this helps
