Discuss Interesting report from Sheffield University in the Solar PV Forum | Solar Panels Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

This kind of report brings some welcome credibility and positive news to the industry. Shame they don't state what is wrong with the 2% of under performing systems - I would make a guess that they are due to error on installation, such as incorrect string wiring etc. rather than any fatal flaw with the equipment.

It's a good article to link to from installer web sites (assuming that would be agreeable with the University)

Perhaps they haven't asked.
Maybe they'll give the systems the benefit of the doubt for a little longer and then investigate those which are especially under-performing or out-performing.

In any case, 2% of systems below expectations is a very good outcome; it means that 98% are meeting or exceeding expectations.

I'll link to their solar data pages:
Welcome to the UK wide network of PV generators - Microgen Database.

My system is on there - user reference number 774, between Cambridge and Ely.

Their data, being from generation meter readings, is much more believable than the add-on devices supplying data to PVOutput.
