Told me you are to good here you got brains be a spark, if you can hak it.
If you can crawl on all four limbs like a baby why not.

you're never too old to achieve success in any field mate, as long you have the right attitude, nothing can be a barrier. I've moved from been an cooperate monkey for 20years and now doing electrical and technical design solutions.

PS I'm in my late 40s.

It depends, can you:

Spend all day on your phone texting, facethingying etc.

Believe that the world owes you everything, and you shouldn't have to work or do anything to get whatever you want.

Speeek wivoot all da pronunciakation or prooper spellink an al dat.

If so, you will fit in fine.....

:)

(No offence to any apprentices out there, but you do have an image to uphold!!)

Could you manage on apprentice salary.?

Never mind that, can he handle being deliberately trapped under floorboards or sent to the wholesalers for a left-handed screwdriver, etc etc? Oh, the laughs you can have, at an apprentice's expense...

Good luck OP, if your knees aren't already shot, you'll be ok. Attitude is the key.

I've been an apprentice for 38 years now..... you NEVER stop learning.

There's no age limit in England regarding the funding employers can access, I can't pretend it will be easy finding one though. If you want to get start the journey and acquire some relevant technical knowledge that would ultimately reduce the duration needed to complete an apprenticeship, then the TESP Routes on the Electrical Careers website show which qualifications count. An apprenticeship from scratch takes around four years.

Blimey that aint bad, My first year was 90p per hour 79/80
it was quite good pay with the local borough council do council rewires before I moved to a private company to finish my apprenticeship. Then after 5 years , off to be self deployed / agency work. £10 ph

Short answer YES, according to your learning ability there are many other professions out there at the same intellect level that will take fewer years to reach a pay grade above that of an electrician, I am now going to my bunker and put on my tin hat.

my first wages as an apprentice were £7.10s /week. 3 years later after a HND , went up to £22/week. no wonder i went self employed.
