hi to all, this may sound like a daft question to some but i am nvq level 3 17th edition with over 9 years in the electrical trade, but mainly construction sites for large companies. i have now found myself looking for work in domestic but all are asking for part p in their ads. my question is...... do i already qualify for part p with my qualifications? if not how and what do i need to do to get it and how much is it?

Part P is just a section of the building regs mate...

No qualifications needed, you just need to show your scheme provider that your work complies with them.

I think they are asking in a round about way, that you must be already registered with a competent persons scheme.

To be honest I suspect like with plenty of job ads they haven't the slightest clue what they're talking about but have heard this term used and have nonsensically repeated it. No-one can honestly answer that they are Part P qualified because it's not possible.

Recruitment people often ask for non-existent things. Research doesn't seem to be their forté.

If your looking for work to be employed by someone then not sure why they are asking for this, the company itself should be Nic registered (Part p) etc

Sorry just read the previous posts and I think the reason has been covered..

i find it strange most companies ask for all these qualifications/registrations but dont even know what they look like. Ive never once been asked to show my grade card in 15 years
