Is www.fairtrades.co.uk worth joining

Hi everyone - just had a long chat with the lady from Trade Association | Vetted Tradesmen & Builders. From what I can gather it is a trade association offering Trustmark etc.... As a member of NAPIT I can get Trustmark, and get separate insurance backed guarantees from an insurer. I was looking to generate some more work as things have been quiet lately. They are not a lead seller. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on whether it was worth the basic fee of £299 + VAT? Thanks in advance.

Elecsa offered me trustmark membership for £50. I declined even at that price, as already said, quite expensive for a sticker.

Another load of old tosh, had 'which?' On my case last month, they only want £40 per month so i can put their sticker on my van

Still, there must be plenty of idiots out there who sign up for these scams

Had a similar rant to the missus earlier - at one side there's us, the trades, offering a service. At the other side there's the customer requiring our services. In between, there's all manner of pointless, useless nonsense trying to siphon off some of the money flowing from customer to tradesman. Sticker providers, Part P scams, Constructionline, lead generators. Parasites the lot of them.
