Good morning everyone,

Thanks for having me!

I was an apprentice from May 2008- August 2009 gaining my Level 2 certificate in Electrical Installation but I was 16 and wasn't quite ready for the big bad world of work and got sacked. I then laboured for a builder who we did electrical work for during my apprenticeship. I moved into factory work in 2012 and luckily for me got accepted to be part of the maintenance team in 2017.

I went back to college to get Mechanical Engineering qualifications which I got a C&G Level 3 in. My company were then going to fund me to go back to college to do Level 3 Electrical Installation but my local Tech College wouldn't allow me to be day release as I wasn't a "proper" apprentice and part of JTL (I was back in 2008/09).

I've gone a different pathway now which if I'm being honest is way more suited to my work in maintenance as I'm doing an NVQ3 Diploma in Electrical Engineering Maintenance.

I'm very excited to be back working with electrics again! I'm looking forward to reading this forum and learning! I've tried to access the trainee forum but to no avail. Could anybody point me in the right direction please?

Sorry for the essay!
