Hello

I need to extend 13 5 core 6mm non swa cables, the joint's will be outside - above ground with no weather or sun protection.

Any advice on the best product to use for this task would be appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

A weatherproof enclosure fitted with DIN rail and suitable terminals.

Or a weatherproof enclosure and crimp connectors suitable to the cable type insulated with heat shrink.

Or a weatherproof enclosure and soldered joints insulated with heat shrink.

Or a weatherproof enclosure and wago 221-612 connectors (6mm Lever connector)

Or solder and heatshrink insulated and heatshrink sheathed joints.

Which weatherproof enclosure?
I was thinking something like a Wiska Shark connector or underground resin joint kit

For 13 joints/26 cables I would imagine quite a large enclosure, a rittal style cabinet with high IP rating would be my preference.

What type of cable is it?

Those shark joints look a bit rubbish iny opinion.
I don't know how well an underground joint will resist the effects of sunlight.

Each joint is in a different location so unable to use a single enclosure.
Installation will be in operation / direct sunlight during daylight hours for 10 years so I'm after good quality. The Shark connector does not look like much but I have been impressed with Wiska products

This is one of the cables: VDE 0267 IBECHTOLD 5x6 CE 11
I will be extending it with either a PVC type cable of rubber flexible cable.

I wouldnt say I am impressed with wiska products, the only product I use are their infamous joint boxes (308s etc) hich are good enough for the job but could be better.

That's an odd cable type, is this a specialist application of some sort? VDE 0267 appears to be a standard for MV cables as far as I can see.
