Well, landing fresh in my inbox today:

OUT NOW: New Site Guide for Domestic Installers

Who buys this stuff???!! So - secret to making money is 1) rewrite the OSG(s) 2) find everyone elses end of line offers then add 50% back on.

£416 for screwdrivers and some snips, anyone?

And they wonder why they're reviled so much.

Some idiots will though mate, a fool and his money.........
I particularly liked the partially VDE tested electricians tool kit

Those £416 snips and screwdrivers are in their sale with 50% off. They are claiming that they were £832 at some point.
50% of the current price is still expensive!

What a bunch of jokers. They would be well advised to pick up that £4 krypton torch and shine it up their arse to discover where they lost their head

Some insulated tool kits ARE very expensive, but normally only purchased by specialist companies. At first glance i thought this tool kit was manufactured by ''Seirle'' not sure of the spelling (a French company) who's insulated tools are expensive. But looking more closely they aren't... I know because i have a similar set by this company, but even that was in the region of 400+ pounds, along with a couple of fully insulated socket sets, the cheapest set being well over 200 pounds for a 3/8'' rachet, hand driver, extension bar and 9 sockets. As far as i remember, all was purchased via RS. ...And no i didn't pay for any of them!! ...lol!!!

Hmmmmmm.

Don't forget the VAT on the 20 piece tool kit.

and i wonder if they do further discount for multiple orders.

What a rip off.

Its a bunch of WERA drivers - which are about £25-27 a set and just some CK snips, pliers, etc, that kit is worth no more than £100 in tools, top end. Nicest thing about it is the box, but lets be honest, whose tool box(s) here look anything like after a week at it, dont know about you lot but mine is full of just about useful(less) item known to man, along with the odd mars bar wrapper and a few smoke ends.

I would have that thing emptied of tools in 5 mins and would just use it as the worlds best lunch box instead.

I've got an old 'engineers case' like that, a Farnell one I bought when I was still too young to drink, so that's.....a while ago :) I ripped all the flappy bits out years ago and just use it to carry test meters and leads in. Too big and heavy to be useful!

Well you summed it up with NICEIC Marketing because thats all they are I still believe that all Schemies should sell courses ,books, tools and documentation great but not run a registration company because conflict of interests say this is wrong ie "I have just assessed you and you need more training more books and better documentation and funny enough I can sell you them as well whilst I am here

Now is this wrong or what

That bum bag worn with my tool vest would look just fabulous. oooooo cant forget the bump cap for those naughty knocks to noggin

So £21.00 for the NICEIC's version of the OSG.

Am I missing something here, but the vast majority of us, will have spent about the same on the "official" version - why would anyone buy another?

Because you do not belong if you are not badged and this is what this is all about ie identity and for want of a better word brainwashing
as it is not about driving standards it is about driving sales as I said before they are a sales hungry monster that has lost sight of what it was supposed to do .

So wear that badge with pride remember and tell everybody that they could die if they dont get their electrical work done by an NICEIC badged electrician and dont worry if they are a Electrical Trainee because they or NICEIC will not take responsibility. Think of their members being junkies who need that next fix then you will understand how they operate

you`l be getting `cable appreciation badges` next....you could even get the fridge magnet set....the two cables...together with dave austin and some other NIC claptrap...
