Hi guys, currently in the process from leaving the British army, and doing looking to do a coarse with my re settlement which covers, ecs health and safety, citb full scope, city and guilds 2382 and 2393, 17th edition wiring regulations. Just generally wondering would this be enough to at least get a foot in the trade or am I going to be wasting my time many thanks

basic qualifications that will allow you to enrol with a scheme for house bashing. nothing like a proper electrician,s qualification, which i believe is c&g 2365 ( 3 years ) followed by nvq3. you need these to (a). get a JIB card. and (b). to qualify for industrial work.

so if the city and guilds 2365 is 3 years, would most companies put you through that while I'm working for them and getting vital experience? Many thanks for the advice.

You need to think about where you'll be when you've done all these courses. It's great to be qualified, but getting work is a bit more difficult.
