Hi all. First post and wondering if someone can help.

I have a single colour LED COB that I’m having issues with. The strip is to be controlled by a small Wi-Fi controller unit. Due to the positioning, I removed the connector and now have a positive and negotiable wire. These both show current on my multimeter when the unit is active.

I’ve tried connecting the COB strip using a click connector, and also just by soldering the + and - to the relative wires, but the strip is not lighting.

I wonder if anyone has any tips for this. I’ve attached a phot of the strip I’m using. Again, the wires are showing a current is present, but for some reason this isn’t transferring to the strip.

Many thanks!

Did you remove any plastic coating on the contact pads of the LED strip before putting the connector on? Polarity is critical so was the + and - of the power connected the correct way around?
I see a couple of slightly dark areas along the length of the yellow COB strip which doesn't bode well so maybe the COB strip is damaged. I'd just use a known good 24v driver and connect it in turn to all the sets of connection pads, you might find that just one section is not working. If it doesn't light or if there's a faulty section then I'd buy a replacement.

There doesn’t appear to be a protective layer on the strip.

This has come from a 5m roll which I’ve tested with an identical Wi-Fi unit.
