Hi guys,

I have 2 wall lights connected in parallel to a dimmer switch. I've fitted 2 dimmable LED's which seem to work OK, however sometimes when dimmed they occasionally flicker. I've noticed that if I unscrew one of the LED's the remaining one never flickers under any circumstances.
Why do they flicker only when connected in parallel?

Regards,

Charles

We need some more details on the make and model of the dimmer and of the lamps, including whether the lamps are the same in all respects or not.

The dimmer is unsuitable for controlling LED lamps. You need to buy a dimmer switch or replacement dimmer module which is suited to controlling LED lamps. Take one of your LED lamps to a good electrical retailer/wholesaler and ask them to supply you with a dimmer of the right type and able to run only two LED lamps - LED dimmers have a minimum load requirement as well as a maximum load limit.

Thanks, I've tried an LED dimmer which works much better and will dim the lamps very much lower than I require, i.e. fully anticlockwise, although at this level there is a very slight flicker.
This has not really answered my question though, which was, why does the old dimmer work flicker free with 1 lamp but flickers when 2 are connected in parallel.
