I have just put up some new lights with modern LED bulbs - the ones with spaded ends. When I turn off the switch the bulbs in the upstairs landing light stay illuminated, but not as brightly as with the power on. Has anyone seen this before - have I wired the light up wrong? The other identical one at the bottom of the stairs is working normally.

Try a better class of led lamp including snubber for the induced current causing the glow.
You pay your money you take your chance.

I had a similar issue before Christmas -
after removing a pendant light fitting and installing 5 led downlights on a new dimmer. All GU10 lamps glowed ever so slightly when the dimmer was turned off.
I thought it was caused by induced voltage from other cables in the void so installed a neon in a MF box connected to the last downlight to absorb the voltage but the lamps stayed the same. I upgraded the dimmer and this had no effect. I changed the GU10s to better quality and this solved it. If this hadn't sorted it, the next step would have been to install a low load capacitor.

Thanks for all your replies - I thought it might have something to do with capacitance or induced voltage and also being a 2 way light circuit. Wiring of both lamps is identical and I knew it wasn't necessarily a circuit fault. Lamps probably are cheap ones but they came in another light we bought. I'll just leave it for now and play around when I have time. I thought it might shorten the lamp life you see but maybe not?
