Discuss Led strip to lighting circuit in the Lighting Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Many options available, depends on what suits the installation better.
If they are to be permanently fitted, then hard wiring would be my preferred method.

It depends on the installation. The LED strip is normally low voltage, so required an LED driver. If accessible (i.e. in a ceiling void, or in cupboard etc.) the terminals must be covered.

For temporary installations, they can just be plugged into the standard sockets. For permanent install, as James said above - hardwire into the lighting circuit.

Apart from 5amp sockets, there are many other possibilities depends on what suits the installation better.
For permanently fitting hard wiring is the perfect method.
For temporary fitting just put LED strips to standard sockets.
