Hello all,
I'm new here, first post and no elec qualifications, so a few condescending replies I'm sure are more than deserved.
I'm currently looking to add some strip lighting to the back of some shelves in the bathroom (wife thinks it looks fancy). What I really want to do is avoid a second switch. I just want them to turn on and off with the main lights.
Only problem is I have a dimmer switch controlling the bathroom lights, and I don't want the strip lights to dim with the main lights.
My question is: assuming the dimmer has ample wattage to deal with the extra load, will enough voltage be supplies to the transformer if the dimmer switch is used to maintain a consistent brightness to the striplights?
Also is there something glaring problem or solution I haven't considered with this which is obvious to you?
Thanks for taking the time to read everyone, much appreciated, and apologies if I have posted in the wrong place or not tagged it correctly.
