Took down a 6 ft light fitting and replaced it with a 5ft LED twin fitting, I had to change the MCB from a 6a to a 10a MCB because the 6a keeps tripping off,
Is there a big start up current on LED tubes?

if your blowing a 6a mcb, then you have not read the LED manufactures instrustions. depending on the led tube you may have to remove the ballest and starter, others you may need to rewire the supply direct to the led tube....you need to check.

It says he replaced the fitting, doesnt sound like a retro fit LED tube.

They can have large inrush current yes, did you try a C type?...

How long did the 6Amp breaker take to trip? The LED fitting should be lower power consumption and lower starting current the the 6ft fluorescent. I'd double check your wiring and test the entire circuit.

Hi There

It could well be the inrush current as depending on the brand of fitting, they can have a larger inrush in my limited experience

Haha Jamie you were correct, turned the tube the other way round and it worked, its a dead short the way I had it in, it can only go in one way,did not know that about LED tubes.
