Leeds v Saints Grand Final

Here we go again, 4th Super League grand final in 5 years (leeds won the last 3 times btw ).

Anyone got a prediction? I'll go for Rhinos 18-12. It will be a good game, I can't wait until kick off.

Not a Rugby person myself, and dont care who wins what, but what i cant get my head around is, if you win the league you have won the league. So why is it that once you have won the league, you have to play in some sort of half cocked competition where you can pick your own competitor to win it again...or not as the case maybe.

The mind boggles. Imagine Man Utd winning the league, and then being told.......erm sorry Alex but you have now got to play in a knockout set up to win it again. He would tell em all to kfcuffo.

I agree H, Leeds actually came 5th overall in the league.

I'm of the same opinion that if you are good enough to be at the top of a league at the end of a season, you should win that league as you've shown the most consistency throughout.

To then have to 'play off' makes a bit of a mockery IMO as anyone could win a one off game at any one time.

Howard & Lenny I agree with both of you, it all boils down to sky sports. "How to extend a competition?"

I don't like the knock out stage of the super league but it does bring extra revenue to the clubs involved so they can build the teams up for the next season. It's like having a FA cup knock out for the top league teams, brings in the money for all involved.
