BBC News - Huge fire on Leeds industrial estate

hope any of our members in/around Leeds aren't being affected by this

Not me, and I dont think any of the members live near it thank god.

This area of Leeds is supplied by Redcote Lane sub station which also supplies most of the city centre and the surrounding area of the fire. National Grid sparkys will be working very hard to cap this off to ensure no interruption to the supply.

Pollution of the river will be on the news next week I bet? Chemical building on fire next to the river and guess where all the hose pipe water will be going? A mile down stream the Environment Agency use that stretch of the river to conduct tests for flooding and pollution. Very good information will be gathered about this fire and it's knock on effects. I know all this because I'm said and need to get out more lol.

Anyone noticed any damage? Leeds always looks like a bombs hit it.

That area of Leeds should do seen as it was hit by the German bombers in WWII. Well the factories around those parts were making bombs to bomb them.

As for the City Center, I agree lol.

No, I was born in Cheshire. Since then lived in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and Lincolnshire.

I’m not a bloody Yorkshireman!
