Anyone know where I can source the attached (imperial lighting conduit box converter) or a modern equivalent?

Unfortunately not. I had been told that this would do the trick, but unfortunately it is too wide to fit into the BESA box ....

"MK CONVERSION BRACKET COMPLETE WITH EARTH TERMINAL.Converts 25mm deep flush switch boxes with 42mm fixing centres to accommodate plateswitches with 60.3mm fixing centres, 3840 ZIC"

how many would you need of the imperial type?

I only need 2 for a current job. The room has recently been decorated and chopping out for a b/box is a non starter.
Archy, if I had the time I might knock something up, but tbh I just can't spare the time to be faffing about!

i'd have made one by now. bit of 16 gauge steel, drill, hammer, cold chisel, file.

and a lot of muscle if trying to cut 16 gauge with tin snips.

16 gauge sheet metal is approx. 1.5mm thick. awg is american wire gauge

No, awg is American wire gauge and is used to define the thickness of a wire .

In this context the term gauge relates to the thickness of a metal sheet /plate.
The actual thickness associated with the gauge depends on the metal concerned.
It is defined as the thickness of a 1foot square of the metal which has a specific mass.
