I have a problem with a light tripping a rcd etc.

All the circuit tests out good.
No tripping when a bulb not in and voltage is correct when i put across L and N
When i place a bulb in the fitting it trips.

Any ideas chaps ?

yeh done all that. I replaced with a pendant etc. It still trips the rcd.

The strip light in the other room is at fault tho as it wont strike up so do u think it could be due to this even if the switch is off blah blah.

have you changed any other lights on the circuit? I would check these,

Yeh i changed 3 lights for them nasty wire crapy grrrrrrrrrrr take ages to wire lights lol

all other lights work fine tho

Maybe a loose N do you think in a fitting ?

appears to me the pendant neutral is connected to a cpc

a n-e IR fault would cause additional symptoms

could be wrong of course

whats the wiring arrangement?

is it a low energy bulb ? ive had one go and trips the rcd but didnt let you reset it with bulb still in ! for the sake of 5 mins its worth testing all low energy bulbs in a table lamp.

Ok

Looked at the job today

What i have is a pendant that trips the rcd.
After looking into this i found a N that leads to nothing.
Looks like this N should be connected to a pendant after belling out etc.
My thoughts are this N is not connected to this pendant i found and the pendant then leads to a terminal j/box will this cause the other pendant to trip out.

I think the N must lead to a j/b from the light fitting and the loose N leads to d/board.

So my plan is to link this N to the pendant and things should work !

Any ideas chaps ?
