Would the following attachment be the best way to wire up different groups of lights (each group being operated by 1 switch)? Going from the Consumer Unit into the ceiling rose of the first group of lights and from here to the switch and the other light(s) in the group and then onto the next ceiling rose of the next group of lights, and so on?

I would prefer Tel's method, deep backboxes for the switches. How much room do the uplights have as some only designed for one cable.

Thank you so much Murdoch, my first ever dumb rating ! Made my day.:D
i can give you another if you want. but i'm not that mean. i have about 5 dumbs from posters who's sense of humour was abandoned in the test-tube that they were conceived in.

Are you intending to stick all them lights into one protective device? If so then why?
