Long range PIR - recommendations

Hello

im after a long range PIR detector for a customer, the gate is approx 14/15m from the corner of the house so needs to pick up that far. Any recommendations? All the ones I've seen so far are either very expensive or only have a 12m max range

GJD opal has 35m range, works on 12v. Control unit available to control mains lighting.

clipsal infrascan. not the prettiest looking thing in the world but has a rated range of 18m and very rarely fails in my opinion,

and not the cheapest...... but if its range the customer wants....

I haven't used this one but it detects up to 40M (at least that is what it states, so that may well be an exageration, but even so its got to be at least 20m!).

Yes, I noticed that! I've seen a few long range sensors and detection angle always seems to have to take a hit! If the sensor is at an angle to the gate (and positioned correctly - perhaps a bit of trial and error) then that shouldn't matter too much as the person entering the gate should still pass through the detection zone.

The GJD opal you cant beat...used them for the past 20 years.

Does it have a built in transformer or do you have to source this seperately?

Either use one of their controllers or else use your own 12V psu
