Hello, first time poster. I am here looking advice on how to connect my batteries in my laser level. I dropped it and it stopped working. Opened it up and the attachments to each battery have broken. I tried to.solder it but it doesn't seem to have taken to it..any tips or advice on how to join these.

Probably a bad idea but I usually file/sand the surfaces to be soldered to remove the plating, add a dab of flux then quickly solder with a high power iron. If the drop was enough to cause damage like that the alignment/calibration will need checking.

when you say a high power iron, how high. Ive one out of lidl. im thinking it might not be strong enough

the silver connection strips seem to have broken and melt away when i touch them. what are they called if i buy more
ditch the strips and use some 30A fuse wire.
