Discuss Looking for good quality yellow , red and blue Insulated through Crimps in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

To be fair I don’t recall ever finding a burnt out connection in a crimp, but many in old JB’s. Possibly to do with amounts of these joints in service though.

I can't say I've ever found any burned out in fairness - but none of the ones I've seen on site have ever filled me with confidence. One college I was at had its original RFC (serving 2x socket outlets in a corridor of 5 classrooms) broken and extended in each room to install dado some time in the early 2000's. The crimps had seated fine on the original 7/.029, but on the solid 2.5mm2 it was joined to, it just fell out with a light tug in many cases.
