Hello all,I'm hoping that some of you can come with a suggestion or two to assist...My son is starting evening classes at college twice a week to learn electrical installation and theory. He's doing really well on the practical stuff but like a lot of people, he sometimes struggles with the theory, which of course is so important. He's determined to knuckle down and learn it all but I wanted to look for any useful books that might cover theory and present it in an easy to understand way, that he might use alongside his coursework literature.I'd be grateful to hear any suggestions for books that might be worth looking at to help him along. Thanks to you all for reading this thread and for any help offered. K-PAT.

What course is he doing Pat? and the best of luck to him, and lastly where are you based?

Hello again and thanks to those of you who replied, I'll take a look at those books and get copies...and MDJ, He's doing the initial basic domestic installation, then moving ahead, can't recall exactly which course it is....I'm based in the Cambridge area, doing PAT work as the name suggests. Thanks again all, appreciate the help, I'll get my son to register on here soon as a source of useful info.....K-PAT

I've found the Trevor Linsley books really good, the new ones (7th ed) cover C&G 2365 (one book for level 2, another for level 3). If this (L2?) course is the one he's doing, might be worth a look. These are often the recommended texts, though, so he might have it already!
