Looking to get fully qualified

I am currently working for an electrical contractor but we also do a lot of alarm (intruder alarms, fire alarms etc). Truth be told I really am not happy in this job, I do some electrical work but just menial tasks like replacing accessories and things like that, the bulk of the work is alarm which I really have no interest in. I am looking to get the relevant qualifications and experience to become a fully qualified electrician, id like to do things like EICRs and site work. I am 24 years old and just wondering if there were any courses that are available, I feel I’m too old for an apprenticeship. Preferably not one of them 7 week courses as I have already done one of them and the only job I could get was this one when I really wanted to get into just the electrical industry as opposed to alarms. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
