Hi,
I've got 8x 50w 12v halogen lights each with individual transformers in the bathroom.
Two of the lights occasionally stop working. If you pull out the bulb and re-seat it, they start working again. The bulbs are fine. Only they stop working again in a few days and you have to do the same thing to get them going.

Any ideas what is causing this? One of them in a brand new transform (Aurora AU-E60
10-60W/VA Transformer)
Should I try replacing the ceramic bulb holder and see if that stops it?
I thought that if it was overheating that it would self reset?
Thanks a lot. Hugh.

Almost certainly the LV cable with the ceramic holder.... 50W halogen lamps fail like this due to the heat output of the lamps.

I would recommend you consult an electrician and see if they can be converted to LED's - and before you run off and buy LED MR16 lamps just be aware that not all transformers will "like" LED lamps.

it's either the lamp holder or a bad connection to it. they're only pennies, so replace them.
