Hi
I installed a Paxton mag lock door entry system for the first time yesterday.
My question is:
The magnetic itself felt quite hot after a short period of time, is this normal?

It is bound to dissipate some heat but not excessively. Measure the applied voltage and see if it is within the magnets voltage tolerance.

All the Paxton mags I've dealt with run toasty.

They didn't seem particularly bothered about it when I asked while doing one of their installation courses some years back.
