had a phone call to day ,asking to replace a couple lights fittings .
I ask the customer I need to look at the consumer unit and check weather
the gas &water has been bonded .she pulled away a storage unit on wheels
and the crap plus more plastic bags then Tesco's away from the utility cupboard when looking at the cupboard it had been chewed by the dog.
20171221_122125.jpg opened it up .I said what the f88k .I could not believe it .no Earthing from
DNO to the met bar but gas &water done .I ask the customer have you had.
a spark in . no she said the last time I had a spark in the house was 14 years ago.
so the spark left this 14 years ago

And it would be so difficult to get the earth to the MET!
Though I have a feeling that the earth was just not well terminated and has come loose over 14 years, i.e. been pulled out of the terminal.

How far through the line tail is the sheath/insulation damaged particularly under those bits of tape?

in this instance would you fix it yourself taking responsibility for it?, or call dno to fix, which can be frustrating if i am being polite about them..
has far that I was concerned even the gas &water was bonded. tided up and put back where it belonged in MET .has for the house It was greasy then a grease spoon .apart looking like Steptoe's junk yard. moving around the skeleton .really loved the job.

Looking at the live tail sheath I would say we all need to ditch our voltsticks and get a pet dog instead. Lucky (or intuitive) to know when electricity was near. Another couple of chomps and it would have been a different type of lockjaw.

Electrical issues aside, the pet owner is not responsible enough in my opinion and should not be keeping animals.

when I told the customer, SHE was more concerned about the lights being put up then the dog .the kitchen was like you see on TV where compulsive cleaner clean other houses . poor bl**dy dog .
