Hi all,
Been today to look at a potential install and was a little concerned when I looked at where the supply was to be taken from...

Okay here goes,

Three phase 100A incomer, direct with 25mm meter tails going to a 9 way Ryefield unit, from there, there are 5 x 100A supplies feeding 25mm armoureds going to some 150mmx150mm trunking some 15M away, these are glanded off into the trunking and then direct into the meters...

I have been asked to put a 25mm SWA made off into the Ryefield board and then it can be terminated by the LEB!!! - Surely this cant be the correct way of doing it...

How can it be legal to have a Ryefield board with spare useable ways before any form of metering?

Surely this would encourage fraud, there is no identification stating it is not to be used, neither is it security sealed, the installation looks terrible and was carried out by a previous installation electrician, not the LEB...

Seen similar to this when I was installing meters on single phase domestics.

Quite often I would see Henley blocks fitted after the cutout and before the meter, one set of tails going to the meter then onto the cumsumer unit and another set of tails from the henley block (still before the meter) feeding a shower / garage cunsumer unit.

I called it, buy one get one free, but technically it is theft of electric.

The whole thing sounds a little to tempting for people will to take a chance if you ask me...
The yhingis that it would never get identified either because of where the ryefield board is...
