Mainsboard tripping

Hi there ,
My mains board keeps tripping and I just need some more insight on what the problem could be , the main switch is an 80amp , cooker 32 , sockets x2 32 , heating 16 , lights x2 16 , heating 16 and garage 16 , can I just replace the main switch to a higher rated one ? Any advice helpful thanks

This does Not seem sensible if that's how it was designed !

main switch is an 80amp

that will be a RCD one then .

@123bill if you turn off all the individual breakers (fuses) and then introduce them one by one, at what point does it trip?

Hi Bill - sorry to hear you’ve got problems. Don’t think about replacing things yet, as the fault may not be in the board. Often it’s a faulty appliance - I blame the kettle, then the washer .

@123bill as opposed to people guessing can you post a pic of your consumer unit as already asked when you are next back online.

How many lights have you got if you need 2x 16a

..it will be one of them (uprated) to blame -if its not a Typo !
