Anybody else had this! you know those double appliance boxes, the ones that take a single socket and say a spur, well our customer bought all there own chrome sockets, switches, spurs etc them selfs, of a list we gave them, they must have thought it would be cheaper than us buying em, but alas there you go, the problem arises when the single socket and a spur are together they don,t fit, we had to take the edge off the chrome so they would fit, just wondering if any one else had ahd this trouble, the chrome stuff was bought from b&q.

slightly different problem i fitted some magnetic front plate stuff in my house the problem with those, its not possible to square them up when they are screwed back because they are very bulky on the back and fit snug in the back box even the adjustable lug didnt help

Dual accessory boxes WILL NOT accept anything other than standard white accessories.

Even non thin plate chrome do not fit.

Found this out at my expense a few years ago.

double appliance boxes, ?
when i use chrome sockets and like , you use normal metal back boxs -or single
just like you are putting 2 x gang doubles for TV you leave 2ins gap between metal boxs , then your boxs will fit chrome sockets

I am assuming that its these that are causing the problems..

Dual 35mm KO Flush Box

If so, then yes, as Mr Leaf pointed out that two singles spaced suitably apart would be better and will take almost anything.

Cheers lads, we didn,t realise this would happen, and we had already sunk the boxes and plastered and it had been decorated when we found this out, like Jason to our cost, but wouldn,t you lads think that if b&q are selling this stuff they should be made aware of the problem, after all the double appliance box is made for 2x single items, and i take the point that you use single boxes 2" apart but this box is made to overcome that problem of lining them up.
