when carrying out an RCD test with the above the tester was displaying "HOT" can anyone shed some light on what this code is for?

not sure but could be tester has done too much work and is overheating. leave it a while then try again.

I think the Americans call live circuitry 'Hot'. Did you select English or American when you setup the language on your tester!? LOL

Thermal Protection

To protect the MFT from overheating during Loop testing, thermal

protection is fitted. If the message ‘HOT’ appears in the display when loop

testing, the instrument must be allowed to cool down before further

attempts are made at loop testing.

Had that displayed on my Megger RCDT320 which is supposed to mean it is too hot with excessive use,but it was a fault on the ribbon cable in the tester.

I've had a couple of Megger MFT15XX testers display this under calibration after testing various loop impedance values and RCD trip times in quick succession. Leave the meter to cool for a while and stop testing so fast!
