Hi All,
i am replacing an old Megger and am currently looking at a 1710 replacement. It is on the net and currently showing Err29.
would anyone know if this is a minor fault or is it a case of a picture taken wit no leads attached please?
hope to hear from someone at their earliest convenience.

Sorry should have said, also looking at a Fluke, which appears to have it all and the Megger 1552.
Can't understand why people take pictures with an error showing, then say it just a Lead 'thing'.
Good idea to take a picture with the leads in place then, surely?

Err29 messages relate to an internal +15V rail component. Check if the seller can replace the batteries and check the tester before you bid/buy; if the batteries are NiMH batteries, they may need binning rather than recharging. If this doesn't sort the fault, then the tester will need to be looked at by either Megger or an independent. Advise that you budget for £200+VAT on top of whatever the asking price is if it needs repair

Thanks very much for the info. I thought it strange when he said the error was there because the leads were not plugged in.
If i cannot find a decent secondhand one i will invest in new.
