Hi does anybody know the best place to buy one of the above machines? I have spoke to a few people who paid £430 but cannot remember where from. I can't seem to find one under £519.

Heeeeelp

I got a brand new megger mft1553 (including software) and cal cert from ebay for £429.99 + £14.99 del
I got it from this ebayer proudfoot9020 and here's the one I got 190265204853 (item number)

I'm really impressed with it, just need to use it more really

Andy

comp-su-port that price would be ideal, I will keep an eye out for him listing another.

I am currently a student and am wanting the kit to use on my (very sad) home set up for practice, and won't be sed at work until I pass my course so was only hoping to spend around £400-£450.

Thanks for the links Warren, I have spoke to Acutest who can do me a new 1552 for £460+VAT, if they could knock the vat off it would be ideal. Or they can do the 1553 for £499+VAT

Also does anybody know where to buy/beg/borrow the software for the 1553 to download and print certificates? I can't believe they can warrant £280 for the software alone.

If I can get the software cheap, I may just talk myself into buying a 1553.

Warren, I have just bought one from ebay (Same seller as comp-su-port) and am now really excited to get it here and start playi...... Testing:)

I had a good read through those 2 files you sent me, thanks ever so much for that again, it's cool that there are people on here taking time to help.

All in it cost £445 delivered for a Megger 1553 with the software. I am thinking at this price it must come without warranty (Although the seller has sold tons of Megger stuff and has great feedback) but will be estatic if it turns up with 3 years.

Unfortunatly by staying in on a Friday night, I also have just ordered a Dewalt DC011 radio and a little XRP Driver to go with it. (Bloody ebay)

Anyway once it turns up I have decided to give my house a full inspection to start learning. Let's just hope I don't go blowing anything!!

Thanks again.

Glad to hear it! I don't think that you can blow the Meggers, but either way have fun. Sounds more like the right kind of money to pay for your Megger - well done!

Well done for getting the mft and other bits.
The package came as a full set with warranty card, so fill it in and send it off or just register online (I haven't yet but will be doing so soon).
It took 7 days for mine to arrive on the doorstep, but glad I went for it, just been so busy at work I haven't had time to get to know it yet (I don't know if that sounds right, but you all know what I mean)

A quick addition,If the product was imported by a EU based CO then there is a warranty if not then the warranty only applies in the country/state that the product was shipped from. Hope this doesn't pi55 too many people off
